Parent Involvement is an integral part of a community kindergarten

Spring Road Community Kindergarten is one of only two community kindergartens in WA that owns their own building and site. This ensures that we always have our beautiful site secured for our Kindy kids to enjoy. Due to this we are responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the building and all the associated costs. We rely on parents to assist us with maintenance and fundraising each year to keep our beautiful Kindy in operation.

Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the committee, assist with fundraising activities and sign up for parent help days at Kindy. Younger siblings are able to accompany parents, as community kindergartens are family-friendly places.

Parent Management Committee

Every year, parents form a parent management committee, to manage the administration and maintenance of the kindy facilities plus co-oordinate the fundraising activities throughout the year.

The committee works closely with the teaching staff to achieve building maintenance and playground improvement goals which reflect and enhance the kindy’s educational program, facilities and community values.
